PE Symptoms and Causes
Causes
The causes of premature ejaculation can be many. In a majority of cases, the cause is a combination of causes, both physiological and mental. Premature ejaculation might simply be caused by PC muscles that are weak, strengthening which can easily remedy the issue. On the other hand, research has shown in most cases, it is a combination of the non-physical and physical factors (for example stress), more time than not the weak muscles are the cause (in as much as 73% of the cases).
Symptoms
Many have tried to figure out what qualifies as premature ejaculation and what does not. The two best known guidelines are:
- Master and Johnson suggest that a man suffers from PE if his partner orgasms before he ejaculates more than 50% of the time.
- Researchers have suggested that a male suffers from PE if he orgasms in under 2 minutes after the penetration. A survey by Alfred Kinsey in the 1950s showed that nearly 70% of men cannot last more than two minutes.
It seems that the idea of PE is more subjective and often depends on an individual’s perception of how much he can satisfy his wife.
